Polypropylene common strength filament, as a widely used synthetic fiber, has distinct technical features in its spinning process. It not only reflects the processing characteristics of polyolefin materials but also integrates the precise control requirements of chemical fiber spinning.
In the raw material processing stage, the process needs to be optimized in accordance with the characteristics of polypropylene resin. Due to the good fluidity of polypropylene melt and its sensitivity to temperature, a treatment method of simultaneous drying, dehumidification and pre-crystallization is usually adopted to avoid the formation of bubbles or broken threads during the spinning process. Meanwhile, to enhance the strength of the fibers, a small amount of nucleating agents will be added to the raw materials to increase the orientation of the molecular chains by regulating the crystalline morphology.
The melt spinning method is mainly used in the spinning and forming stage, which is the core advantage of the common strength filament process. Compared with wet spinning, melt spinning eliminates the solvent recovery stage, has a simpler process and reduces energy consumption by approximately 30%. The spinning temperature must be strictly controlled within the range of 230-260℃. A temperature that is too high will cause thermal degradation of the resin, while a temperature that is too low will affect the fluidity of the melt. Through a precise temperature control system, the fluctuation range can be controlled within ±2℃.
In the stretching and shaping stage, the process adopts a multi-stage stretching method to achieve fiber reinforcement. After the primary fibers undergo the first stretch (at a ratio of 3-4 times), the molecular chains are initially oriented. Then, through the second hot stretch (at a temperature of 80-100℃), the crystallinity is further enhanced, and the final breaking strength can reach 3.5-4.5cN/dtex. The setting temperature is usually set at 120-140℃, which can not only eliminate internal stress but also prevent excessive fiber shrinkage, ensuring the dimensional stability of the finished product.
The winding process emphasizes the balance between high speed and uniformity. The winding speed is generally controlled at 1000-1500m/min, and a good filament cake formation is ensured through an automatic tension adjustment system. In addition, the process also has strong adaptability. By adjusting the spinning components and stretching parameters, products with different linear densities (15-150dtex) can be produced, meeting the demands of multiple fields such as weaving and nonwoven fabrics.
Overall, the spinning process of polypropylene common strength filament is characterized by high efficiency and low consumption. By precisely controlling the melt flow, tensile orientation and crystallization behavior, it ensures the basic mechanical properties of the fiber while achieving economic efficiency in large-scale production, laying a technical foundation for its wide application in the field of industrial textiles.
